Toes had her surgical follow up today.

DadtoToes took Toes for her surgical follow up today. It went really well.

Dr. M took the tape off of the incision and it has healed almost 100%. They used a surgical glue instead of stitches. I highly recommend it!

I'll try to get her to sit still long enough to get a photo of it this weekend . The praise I have heard for Dr. M's incision technique was well deserved! The incision is about 2 1/2 inches long and right along the crease behind her ear. It is very obvious that in a few months we won't even be able to tell there was ever an incision there.

Counting down the days until the 20th...

First day back to reality

Erin Toes went back to daycare today. She was very happy to see her friends, but a little sad to see Mommy leave for work. As always, she was a trooper and didn't shed a tear when I left.

She had a great day and a good nap. She came home, ate a good dinner, played a bit with Mom and Dad, and then went down to sleep with her new teddy bear.

When I dropped Toes off this AM I asked if they have ever taught the kids the sign for "teddy bear'.

It turns out that they not only have never taught the sign, they do not keep a single stuffed animal in the room for germ protection purposes.

So, we have no idea how she came up with the sign. It is one of the signs that make sense, so she may have just figured it out on her own. But, it is pretty amazing!

We hope that her ability to pick up signs so quickly will translate to picking up spoken language as quickly.

We are so excited about Oct. 20!
