Late this afternoon, on our way home from visiting Gramma, Toes was in the back seat very insistently babbling. While this is not that unusual, tonight she was unusually insistent that we pay attention to what she was saying.
We turned to find her pointing at the moon (which had just risen) and saying "Mnn! Mnnnn!" As soon as we acknowledged it was, in fact, the moon she was content.
Moon.
Frank said he is fairly certain she did the same thing earlier this week when they were leaving daycare. She kept saying "mnn, mnn, mnn" and pointing up in the sky. Frank finally looked up and saw the moon. But he thought it might be a fluke.
The lamp in her room we use to read her bedtime story is shaped like a moon. Since she was a newborn, we have always ended the night by saying "Goodnight, Mr. Moon!" before we turn the reading light off.
I am skeptical, yet cautiously optimistic that she was able to connect that concept to the actual moon.
But, the Mommy in me can't help but believe this is the real thing! For her to do it twice... dare we hope????
Moon.
