Another Online Resource!

Erin's Speech Therapy has been going really well! She has been going once per week.

Right now, we have decided to move to every other week, because our insurance only pays for 20 visits per year. We are appealing for more, but in the mean time, we want to try to ensure we won't have to pay out of pocket for too many sessions.

In an effort to help us expand our in home efforts, our Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) recommended that we check out a new online resource that Advanced Bionics has developed with therapy and other techniques to use with young children with CIs.

I just spent about an hour over there and I am thrilled with what they are doing!!! I plan to give the link to Erin's daycare to see if they could possibly use some of the ideas. They are all exercises that any child could benefit from.

Take a look!

Listening Electronically

I came across a really great video clip of Michael Chorost, author of "Rebuilt: How Becoming Part Computer Made Me More Human", describing what it feels and sounds like to be a CI recipient. Please listen!
